Rock Hill Estate was founded on a love for nature and a passion for the beauty and healing benefits of lavender. From their growing methods through the development of their final product, their mission is to:
• promote health and well-being through creating the purest and most natural products,
• educate on the health benefits of natural skin care products,
• share the beauty of nature's finest and most versatile herb lavender, and
• practice sustainable agriculture to benefit the environment.
We are pleased to share with you their story, our farm and their natural skin care and well-being essentials for your health and home. In 1997 Fred and Renate Borneman were looking for a retirement get-a-way, a place in the country to relax and unwind. They found beautiful land in Lovall Valley, Napa, California. It was a raw piece of golden California heaven, and they began landscaping, road building, and well digging. After living many years in Europe and falling in love with the Provence area of France, they decided to plant olive groves, lavender fields and a vineyard.
Rock Hill Estate gets its name from the rocky hill that faces the front of the property. Although each olive tree had to be jack-hammered into the hill side, they were lucky because olive trees love this type of terrain and require very little soil to root.
Their dream was always to produce an extra virgin olive oil, but soon it was time for the first lavender cutting. They began by first drying it for dried bouquets and then the creation of their decorative sachets. There was so much lavender they began to have it distilled for the essential oil, which led to the building of their own still. With the introduction of the essential lavender oil, they created their line of bath and body products.
Working Rock Hill Estate is all a labor of love for Renate and Fred to bring their farm into your home with love and abundance for all.
