St. Francis Wooden Pet Tag
The St. Francis tags were inspired by Judith's dog, Lily. One day she realized how protective they were of each other. The saying, “St. Francis, please protect me as I protect those I love” popped into her mind and then the image of St. Francis talking to a dog in his slightly eccentric way. Originally she called them Redoglos. She were living in Santa Fe where certain religious paintings are called Retablos. It was a logical jump to “Redoglos.” Now she lives in the Bay Area and calls them Lily Medallions, a less obscure reference, and a tribute to her beloved friend.
These beautiful wooden tags measuring 1.5" x 1", depicting St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, are hand made by local artisan Judith Adamson.
The back of these tags have the following inscription on them:
"St. Francis, Please protect me as I protect those I love."
A wonderful addition to any pet's collar!
